Update regarding possible Discord server changes
Discord has delayed the roll out of global age verification.
Quick update regarding the Discord situation I posted about before. Discord has decided to delay the roll out of global age verification to the second half of 2026. They also appear to be trying to distance themselves from Peter Thiel's Persona Identities, which was the verification tool they were supposedly going to use, that wasn't mentioned in my original post because I wasn't aware of what company they were going to use when I made that initial post. Now I said supposedly there because Discord says they only used them for a test run in the UK in January and decided they didn't fit their requirements.
This also comes on the heels of some other reports regarding Persona, but I don't think those reports are really relevant to this website so won't be touching on them, but if people want to read the original findings from a security researcher you can find it here, the website is a blast from the past its design.
Back to the original topic, as a result of this delay at this time no changes will be made to the Discord server, but what happens will be revisited later in the year when they are going to try again to roll this out. I imagine they will try to roll it out quietly at that time figuring that they already made the original announcement and it's not their fault if people forgot later in the year.
